About the Author
Arianne Struik is a clinical psychologist/ family therapist and EMDR consultant. After working in child and adolescent psychiatry for 20 years in the Netherlands, where she developed the award-winning Sleeping Dogs method, she became director of the Institute for Chronically Traumatized Children in Perth. The ICTC delivers Fly-In-Fly-Out specialized trauma treatment for children and families in remote areas in Australia and New Zealand and provides training and supervision on trauma and dissociation internationally. She is a member of the Child and Adolescent Committee for the European Society for the Study of Trauma and Dissociation and EMDR Special Interest Group Dissociation.

A very good psychologist that I know uses this method and is able to treat children who have not responded to any other forms of treatment. The book is an excellent read and full of valuable information. Highly recommend!!

About the Author

Eileen Crawley has had a varied professional and academic career which had included working for the Open University as a tutor on its MBA programme for students in Spain, Austria & Belgium, and working also as a Senior Lecturer for the University of Bournemouth Business School. Eileen has also spent a year teaching in Jiaxing, Zhejiang Province, China.

Since returning to Malaysia in 2008, Eileen has been teaching for a number of colleges on their undergraduate and MBA programmes, which are awarded by universities in the UK, France and Australia. She is a Member of the Malaysian Institute of Management.


Stephen Swailes is a Senior Lecturer at Hull University Business School where he teaches international human resource management, selection and reward management. Starting his career in scientific research, Stephen worked in the water industry and later for a research and consulting organization. He has published over 30 papers on commitment, team performance and employee development. He has contributed several book chapters in these areas and his main research interest now is on talent management and cross-cultural influences on employee development.


David Walsh is Principal Lecturer at Nottingham Business School, Nottingham Trent University, where he specialises in international human resource management alongside the more strategic aspects of HRM and the employment relationship. As the university's Director of CIPD programmes, David was instrumental in its being designated a CIPD Centre of Research Excellence. He has also contributed to the development of CIPD courses overseas and helped shaped HRM education and professionalism in Russia and Azerbaijan. David has extensive experience as an external examiner both nationally and internationally. His HRM practitioner experience includes working for a large, unionised engineering company; and his research into workplace industrial relations was undertaken through the London School of Economics and Political Science.

Very Detailed!!!

Although almost half of the book was practice accompanied with the cd, It still made the most of what of the few pages it had. It is very detailed and its not romanized examples and practices are good for me. It brings up previous topics as a reminder when the current topic is related to it, which helps me understand and not get confused and have to go back and see what I have forgotten. Anyways, It is a very detailed and informative book that will ensure that you understand every chapter, every page, and every sentence. One of the best books on foreign language I have ever read. Take my word for it, I have read to entire book in 4 days. Thats how easy it is to comprehend, but I didn't sell it yet, I'm still working my brain muscels with all that practice with aswers at the back. So, I peaked :)

What I like about this book is that it takes pronunciation right down to the finest detail it seems. With diagrams and explanations of how the sounds are formed by the tongue, jaw, lips, voice box, etc.. and a very understandable CD with examples of how things should sound, it should insure that the correct pronunciation is learned. The book also touches on how the Korean language is spoken in everyday usage, that is, in the same way we often run words together and drop beginnings, endings, entire syllables in everyday conversation in English. I suppose one could just imitate phrases of chit chat and sound reasonably fluent without truly understanding the language, but if you are a person who likes to do things in a thorough manner, I would say that a book and CD like this are indispensable.

I just received the book and it didn't come with the CD. There should be something in the description of the book (on Amazon) mentioning fact that this book is designed to go with a CD, mentions the CD frequently, yet doesn't come with a CD. I'm seeing other people have downloaded the Mp3 file from the University of Hawaii Press website (even they don't mention a CD!). Perhaps the book used to come with a CD, but now they've switched to downloadable Mp3 files only. I gave this 4 stars instead of 5 because now I have to deal with the hassle of a winzip download.

Abraham Joshua Heschel (1907-1972) was a preeminent scholar, acclaimed spiritual writer, and prophetic activist. He was a professor of ethics and mysticism at Jewish Theological Seminary in New York City.Eddward K. Kaplan is Professor of Romance and Comparative Literature at Brandeis University. So I never had a fruit infused water pitcher before now, but I did have a fruit infused water bottle. The most creative way I always have been using it, is to occasionally throw some lemons or strawberries in the middle for strawberry, or lemon water. So when I got this book with all these recipes and different things to infuse into my water, I couldn't believe how many there were. It was like a new world of water to me haha.

When I opened the book, it begins with the contents (No shocker there). But then it started on the beauty of water where it explained about things such as to stay hydrated and how you are not drinking enough water if you are feeling like.. things like that. Which caught my attention because I realize I have not been drinking enough water at all, which would explain some things.

Then it gave me list of a bunch of different fruits and things that I could add to my water in alphabetical order. Each thing it listed, gave a description of what that food item would help with. For example, Lemons: "Supports the liver and aids digestion. Lemons have an antiseptic and antimicrobial properties, as well as a cooling effect." I for one, did not know that lemons helped with that, bt then again I'm pretty clueless on this like I said in the beginning. But you get the idea.

Next chapter, was all about how to use your water infused pitcher and a list of a successful water infusion. If you thought all you did was throw some water in with a couple of strawberries, (At least that's what I thought at first..) OH-HO-HO my friend! You are so wrong.

After that, it's all delicious water infusing recipes from there. It gives you the name of the recipe, how to pre-pare each one, and some notes/tips about why it is good for you, and what you need to know about it. I tried two of them that same day, and it brought my thought about water, to a whole new level.

I am pretty impressed with this little book and all the helpful information and recipes it gives you. It explains everything in so much detail and the recipes are fun to try. Great way to stay healthy, hydrated, and add a little flavor to your daily routine. You will learn to feel good, while actually started to feel good. I love it. I was so happy to be able to try this out as a sample to give my honest review on it to everyone. A really good read, and to refer back on for different recipes for water. (Way more interesting that it sounds.)

Excellent book!

This book is excellent! I loved how the beginning outlines which produce is recommended for infusing and which not to, along with information on each fruit/herbs/etc. that explained their health benefit and what vitamins each would add to your daily diet. Lastly, it details how to enjoy the infused water without sweeter (or with stevia to taste, which I personally use already). I made a muddled lemon/strawberry water (pic included) and added a touch of stevia for sweetness. I am impressed with the amount of recipes the book provides as well.

Really didn't find this as helpful as I had hoped. All of the recipes are for pitchers of flavored beverages and I was looking for ideas for single beverage containers. Most of the ideas would not work in a smaller container .

Excellent, Simple Book on Branding - Beautiful to look at and professional advice

I am an entrepreneur and it's true, you have to have a strong and consistent vision. Fiona Humberstone will definitely help you through her series of books, this one being the second (I have the first and love it!), to get your branding game on strong! So many of us need to bring clarity to our brand because it is so easy to lose track of how we look from the outside. We're on the inside of our brand, we don't always stop to think about how we look to others. While looking good is important, I found that it's equally important to have a strong message too. You have to know what you stand for and stand proud and confidently behind your company. Fiona put her years of expertise in this book and you'd be crazy to pass it by - it's both beautifully presented and easy to follow whether you are new to branding or somewhere in the middle looking for more help. Brand Brilliance will definitely be helpful to you as a business owner and I'm certain that reading it will give you a lot of new ideas and insights into branding but most importantly - that it's critical to your growth and if you ignore it, you definitely won't make the progress you are hoping for. This book is a true work of art. The Author paints the scenes so that you are physically there, feeling and experiencing the brush strokes of each clothing pattern, home, living room, store, horse carriage journey, piece of history, and emotion that each character is feeling and living. The character developments in this work are so extraordinary that these characters become like family to you, whether you like them or not! You find yourself on the edge, needing to know about the next thing that will happen to your new family members. The travel through history, while this is a work of fiction, is authentic and it is extremely obvious (check for yourself) that the Author did her research well. This Author has created such a masterpiece that I can almost guarantee that we will see this beautiful story on the big screen in the future. It's richness ensure's that.

Get your copy asap. You will have no regrets, other than that it has a final page!!!! This novel gives us the richest characters, impressive, surprising, gripping, at times down right nail-biting, other times intensely emotional scenes, which take us on a journey we will never forget!

A Beautiful Love Story!

Black is well written and it's a beautiful love story with historical facts that make the book really interesting. I am not into romance books but this book kept my attention because of the historical facts, the fight for love during a time that would make it difficult to love who you wanted, and the characters were interesting. Joan Vassar wrote a true love story that I think romance book fans will love. Good job Joan on putting together a wonderful book.

This is an amazing work of art that I am not going to forget anytime soon .I love how Joan brought the characters to life,and made you feel their joy,pain and suffering. She has a way of making you fall in love .I actually laughed out loud,and cried silent tears...I cannot wait for the sequel to Black....and hopefully lots more in the future.
